That's just down payment. Just imagine what they'd get to help preserve endangered species (i.e. Texans).

Ah, I assumed you would simply exterminate them instead of preserve them. Makes more sense now.

Nah, the US can keep it.

Alternate proposal: Texas pays us for all of the infrastructure, investment, and protection we've given to it, allows any US citizen that wishes to not live in Texas leave and be justly compensated for their possessions, and then splits off itself. I give it three months.

We already have oil and conservatives in Alberta, and if we want to talk to a grumpy secessionist we can just go to Quebec. No thanks.

If the internet were around in the dark ages, I'm sure that the pro-Vatican crowd would post source after source of evidence proving that the earth was flat, sources right from the Pope's blog I'm sure. The fact remains that there are many in the scientific community who aren't eating or promoting the fruit of evolutionary theory. Whether or not they're supported by the mainstream shouldn't be a factor considering the history of the masses going along with whatever their overlords tell them.

Even if by some strange turn of events the vast majority of scientists in multiple disciplines were wrong and evolution is not true, that would not make young earth creationism true. The burden of proof is on you.

No, it would not. And it's not my agenda to prove that whatever I believe is true. It is always part of my agenda to get people aware of their double standards. Certain people keep repeating themselves, saying "but there is undeniable proof!" Except that it's not undeniable. If it were there wouldn't be educated, intellectually-inclined individuals and groups debating it. Something is only undeniable when it can be proven beyond a doubt, which evolutionary theory fails to do. The favored sources of evidence cited by those on the pro-evolution side consist of "proofs" which are limited in scope, circulated and re-circulated among select scholarly circles, and then presented to the masses as the undeniable musings of intellectually infallible "scientists" who largely won't admit that they have their own bias. To respond to a few others, no, I don't "concede". My thrashing of Divair stems from other times that he has spoken condescendingly toward me, coupled with watching him do it to others on a regular basis, even when he's proven wrong. Although even if he were right all the time, he shouldn't speak to people the way that he does. That was the purpose of my "ragequit", to quote another poster.
