God cannot be proven to be real or not real, simply by the nature of his existence.

However, "God is real" makes more assumptions and contradicts more proven facts than "God isn't real"

Therefore, "God is real" has the burden of proof. Bam. Occam's Razor.

If you can't prove God is real, we have to assume he isn't.
