By the way, Ubuntu. For your poll. Put it there.

Debian is already on there.

Windows 95.

My computer is top of the line, designed for this advanced operating system. With 2 whole KB of ram. And a floppy disk drive.

(More seriously speaking, I do have a computer with a floppy disk drive and windows 95. But I use a windows 7 MSI a6200. That has metal plates bolted to the back to keep the hinges from smashing through the plastic shell again.)

Windows 8 is wonderful with Classic Shell, which adds back the taskbar and start menu.

But with 8.1 you can boot straight to desktop.
I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

I'll admit it works better for phones and tablets, but it's not that bad. 8 is a solid and stable OS.

The machines that are currently switched on number 2 3 WinXPs, 1 Win2K, 1xFedora (needs updating), and an Android tablet (not sure what version, without ).

I've got other versions of Windows available (or alternately-bootable-into), including a Win98 machine1, as well a couple more frequently used Linux distros (a far older Fedora and a Puppy-onna-USB) and (if it counts) an Arduino.

I really ought to see if a Raspberry Pi can power as many servos as the Arduino does, one day, but right now I'm Pi-less. I also apologise for the lack of Mac/IOS (just I've really never been a big Mac person since the era of the Apple][, with some casual use of the Mac Classic when that was around). I don't apologise that Win8.05±0.05 isn't part of my ensemble, but that's already an argument I see has happened.

1 And it would be a matter or moments to boot it up, but I really need to replace the CMOS battery at some point. An amazingly simple job that I just haven't got around to yet. I can even see a number of screwdrivers.
Ceci n'est pas une griffe.

D: how could you even get anything done with TCL?

Anyway chromeOS is mostly web-based and boots from an unchangeable built-in flash memory. Pretty much my definition of a bad OS.

I loved tiny core! It was one of my favorites once you got it running. It was so small and only had what YOU wanted.

Nokia Windows Phones come with an excellent GPS, coupled with a really great free GPS app called Nokia Drive, which uses Navteq maps and is extremely accurate.

HERE Maps could be useful as well.

Actually, I'm pretty sure HERE Maps and Nokia Drive (or is it HERE Drive now?) use the same mapping technology.

I tried Arch. I'll admit I couldn't figure it out. I tried and tried but it never detected my wireless card. I liked Tiny Core because it did.

I cannot tell you how many hours and hours it took to make my wireless card work with mint. I had to fix a compiler error in the driver! :(

Windows 8.1, but only because my laptop came with W8.

I do have a soft spot in my heart for Crunchbang, though.
