Depends entirely upon how it is taught. Children have been known to "experiment" from a young age, and who hasn't heard of the "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" exchange that many kids experience? Sex is, despite what cultural and religious indoctrination may have us believe, completely natural. Most will experience such things anyway, so in terms of education, the sooner the better. Unfortunately, most parents can not be trusted to properly teach their children but, then again, neither can the modern Sex Ed I have seen time and time again. Preaching abstinence to a room of pregnant teenagers proves my point on such matters. Regardless of these things, if we are going to present the warped sexuality found on the crap we broadcast on television, then we should at least try to teach them properly in the classroom.
