1. I don't know about the teaching the name part (unless they explain that it's not normal to say it all the time.) 2. I think it'd be a better idea to explain that certain areas of a person's body are not appropriate to be touched. That way they know if they're being abused, and how to report it. (Although if a child got mad at a parent they could say "hey they're abusing me," and could give evidence by explaining what happened to them based on what they learned in the sex ed class, when it didn't even happen, but that would likely be rare if it happens at all)

But instead of from a teacher, required to teach from curriculum, from their classmates, and from the media, who are motivated by god knows what. I sure as hell do not want any child of mine, (not that I want a child) to have to face their sexuality unprepared the same way I did, and ultimately get taken advantage of by predators because the media told them that silence was consent.

It shouldn't be. A six-year-old saying, "Mommy, help! I went potty in my pants and now I have weewee on my penis!" should be exactly as scandalous as a six-year-old saying, "Mommy, help! I went potty in my pants and now I have poopy on my leg!" They're both things that have often been known to happen to children at that age, expressed perfectly reasonably with no intent to shock.

Think of the uvula (or, optionally, uva, Portuguese/Spanish for grape). Then think of the clitoris. Both are remotely bell-shaped. The one that includes something slightly bell-shaped as the uvula is the one with also the similar name.
