It seems our cities must battle for the title of Capital of the North...
It could also be seen as a Rose war, in some respects.
May the best Rose win

#Leeds4Capital
Seriously though. Glasgow would be a logistical nightmare for a capital. Leeds is central on the island of Great Britain. Either we get it, or the Manx do. And considering that the Isle of Mann is a Crown Dependency...

I agree.
But, too be fair, it depends on your definition. Leeds proper, as in the city centre (I think) is possibly smaller, but the whole of Leeds is much bigger.
Yeah, that sounds about right. We're definitely larger economically though, you can't argue that.Aquafireland wrote:Well, guessing by your name, it looks like you are quite patriotic for the city. Just saying. Anyways, does it look like I'm joking.
for the capital of England. for the capital of England. for the capital of England.England.

Ok, so lets imagine a hypothetical (but possible) near future where British scientists discover that London is to be flooded by rising sea levels in a years time. With no time to build effective and long term water barriers, and with the current ones ineffective, the Parliament of Great Britain votes to re-locate the capital.
Here are the challenge questions
1) Which city should be the new political capital of the UK?
2) Where in the UK should the economic executives relocate?
3) What is to be done with the 7 million Londoners trapped by water and power blackouts?
So, what would you do?

Fair enough. I'm a taig, but to me that doesn't mean shit beyond a football club. I support them, but I try and stay away from the fighting. Or I did, now I've moved down south there's no fighting to stay away from.Patriarch wrote:
This kind of guff is another reason why Glasgow shouldn't be a contender
The word 'guff' is the reason we need to move away from EnglandSeriously, it's no more than religion and football, and for me just the latter. I moved to the south coast a few years ago and if I met anyone from Hampshire online, I'd ask 'Scummer or Scate?'
