Its certainly not the opinion that offends anyone, its the attitude. Plus, if debating it is a waste of time, why bother being here? The whole point of this forum is debate, often items we can't directly influence. But by the extension of your mindset, there's no point in doing anything outside your immediate skillset. Of course, we know that's not true, because with time and effort, a lot has been achieved.

Removing it would also not hurt anyone and would also be in agreement with the laws of the country.

The Under God part should be removed, and children should not be forced to recite the pledge in schools. I'm fine with there being a pledge, so long as it's not forced upon anyone. But forcing children to say that they live in one nation under God in a multireligious nation is completely and utterly wrong. I've stopped saying the pledge in my school and I alternatively switch between pledges to Satan and Stalin at the beginning of the school day.

But Under God shouldn’t be removed.
