God would love to stop evil but will not because He gave humans free will. Because they have free will, they chose to sin, therefore letting evil into the world. God (being all-powerful) could stop evil, but chooses not to because eliminating evil would violate humanity's free will (i.e. we could not choose to do evil).

I'm pretty sure God was against the idea of giving humans free will, if I remember Genesis correctly.

The fourth option: god allows humanity to make it's own choices as he gave the gift of free will. I really hate the way some internet "intellectuals" ask these tired old questions as if they're onto something revolutionary. There's good arguments for god not being real arguments that we base our very understanding of the universe on, use those, not a question which is probably as old the idea of an Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent god.

but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

God says, don't discover good and evil (aka free will) by threatening them with death. Seems pretty conclusive to me.

He allowed her to bite it though... which if we're to buy into his omnipotentness he could of certainly stopped.

No, the dog is not evil. But if god gave humans free will, then surely he created them. And everything else. And if dig a hole along a pathway, put spikes at the bottom and then cover it with leaves, I'm an evil son of a bitch, not the spikes.

God says, don't discover good and evil (aka free will) by threatening them with death. And when they do do it, God kicks them out of Eden. Seems pretty conclusive to me.
