Americans are already fine with numerous violations against that principle.

Sort of. Like most cultures, our definition of what we consider man has evolved.

What would be the point? I mean, you'd have a constitutional monarchy with no real power or history.

Why? There are plenty of other families that hold to his ideals yet maintain actual political recognition and authority in the nation today. Why the Hamilton line?

This on NSGBC News Night: Apparently, almost 30% of NSG desires the United States to become a monarchy. 'Muricans all go whuuut? This poll is known to be accurate within a 36-point margin, 1 out of 1 times. Its founder also claims that 9% of participants found jumping off a giant Kleenex box into a giant jar of lime pickle sauce a good idea in the case of this event. Needless to say, the seriousness of such statements is doubted.

In all truth though, I really didn't expect this. Methinks there may be a few joke votes. I myself took the neutral option.

Yeah, that argument could be made. After all, who really wants to give their king a parking ticket?

LOL at the last choice.

Anyways, I can't really see the USA as a monarcy. I actually shudder at the thought. Seriously, I don't even think the government would be even that powerful as they are now. Does anyone here see the US into a monarchy normal?

I would support an American Monarchy given that, as I have stated elsewhere, I am a Statist, a Reactionary, and an Absolute Monarchist.

You'd see a violent reaction against monarchy. Republicanism is too deeply ingrained in the American consciousness. Hell, the Revolution is generally (inaccurately) portrayed as a revolt against an oppressive king, a war celebrated every year by blowing stuff up.
The history of progress is written in the blood of men and women who have dared to espouse an unpopular cause.

That's pretty damn funny when you put it like that.

I have actually thought that this is what we need here. For too long now we have elected the same kind of person to the Office. And year after year after year, the same stupid issues keep coming up. We need to either elect a real person to office. I mean not a politician or a millionair. A real down to earth person. Or we need to elect a King and give him/her total control. That's my opinion on this subject.

This is a good idea. I've been silently advocating for the US to join the Commonwealth of Nations for awhile now.

George Washington is the immortal god-emperor. His death was a fake. He's secretly controlling the senate and congress all along.

If US became a monarchy, I wouldn't really care.
For so long, Mankind has been plagued by division. Division by culture, creed, skin color, religion and nationality. These very divisions have been the cause of most human conflicts. But in the age of globalism, we can finally have that chance to implement a world government where all human beings are seen as equals. Isn't that what everyone wants? World peace? I do. You should support that too. It may not end all conflicts, but the reductions of Man on Man violence will be at an all time low when the entire planet gets administered by one governing body.

This reminds me of the book "the two Georges"...

Anyway, i can envision the US (possibly with the name changed to "The Union of North America", or "The Commonwealth of North America") becoming very similar in terms of government to Australia, with the President being replaced with a Governor-General, and executive power given to the Prime-Minister. Of course the only monarch that i can imagine for the UNA is the Queen of Great Britain, Ireland, and many other places.
