Twenty-one years ago, the Soviet Union dissolved into its constituent republics and has been dissolved ever since. Does anybody think this could happen to the United States in the forseeable future?

Oh, sure, because every one of the USA's states has, just like the Soviet Union had, a distinct national identity punctuated by an incredibly rapidly escalating political, sociological and emotional detachment from the capital and the capital's politics, with a growing desire to take matters of national sovereignty back closer to home only helped by a collapsing police state that's been ruling the USA for the past century.

Maybe far past our life times if the US doesn't progress quick enough there might be problems and possibly a civil war by an extremely slim chance.
