It's sad really.

I see that there's no convincing people with narrow views... I've seen plenty of things in my life that are better explained by religion or magic than science... I'm sure listing them won't convince anyone.

Just think of this way... science bestows us with the tools to measure the laws of the natural world. It is restricted to the natural world and being a man-made tools, has serious limitations.

It can never hope to comprehend the supernatural in a manner that is ''scientific''... It doesn't work like that. There are things that are out of the reach of science...

Things are not true because you claim they are, you actually have to prove them.
You've refused to provide any proof for your insane claims so I dub thee a liar.

What's sad is that you have more faith in a mythical being that you can't prove exists than a bunch of scientists and doctors who spend the majority of their lives learning and trying to find the cure to the many diseases that plague society today.

I see that there's no convincing people with narrow views... I've seen plenty of things in my life that are better explained by religion or magic than science... I'm sure listing them won't convince anyone.

Examples?

Just think of this way... science bestows us with the tools to measure the laws of the natural world. It is restricted to the natural world and being a man-made tools, has serious limitations.

It can never hope to comprehend the supernatural in a manner that is ''scientific''... It doesn't work like that. There are things that are out of the reach of science...

So we should believe in a mythical god that told us the wrong things about the natural world?

It's fortunate we live in the natural world then and the supernatural one is irrelevant/non-existent.

I'm glad at least that a lesson was learned from it even with the high cost, many people never learn from such mistakes sadly.

Plenty of people, myself included, can attest to seeing happenings that can be explained by supernatural mechanisms but not by scientific mechanisms.

Also, the two realms intersect... I am sure you've heard of ghosts...

Evidence not anecdotes, and yes I've also heard of goblins, faeries, unicorns, centaurs, vampires and werewolves.
I don't believe in those either.

I'm sorry but but I can't accept circumstantial evidence, you may have seen things you personally could not explain but that does not mean it was "supernatural". As for ghosts, again all the evidence is circumstantial and can usually be explained by other factors. Out of curiosity, what are the details of these "happenings"?

Anecdotes are evidence where the person giving the anecdote is not insane.

Witness testimonies qualify as evidence in courts of law no?

So there you go... I do have evidence. Plenty. Unless you want to suggest that EVERYONE who saw ghosts or any kind of supernatural event was insane... You do know the odds of that are infinitesimally small?

1. No they don't.
2. Not by themselves no.
So no you have no evidence.

And appeal to popularity is not an argument.

This isn't a court of law and people can't be reliable witnesses in this case - people can make up whatever they like or convince themselves of whatever they want.

It's still a type of evidence. If you saw something and you tell people about what you saw... it's a form of testimony.

Before the advent of modern forensic science, witness testimonies may have been one of the ONLY types of evidence courts relied on. Are you telling me that didn't count as evidence?

Also, doesn't your approach seem a bit close-minded?

You want to prove the existence of the supernatural (by definition it is supernatural because it transcends the world of the natural and is probably at least on some level above the methods of science)... with tools from the natural world (science).

It doesn't work like that. You can't prove using science what by definition cannot be proved by science...
