I'm an atheist. When I defend theological arguments for fun, don't make cliche New Atheist remarks about theistic biases or trying to cover up gaps to save my "belief". You'll just look stupid.

I will agree with this to the extent that certain definitions of "god" can justifiably be considered false.

Considering the corruption of paganistic influences and reverences over the generations I find it best to avoid accidentally giving them utterance.

I assume however you are talking about something completely different however :?.

Well, you know, it's not really possible to intelligently comment upon very vague notions of a deity. Unfortunately most notions of a deity tend to be very vague, the people using the term haven't really decided what they mean by the term, so where do you even begin? What do you say to someone who defines god as "that which is unseen, yet sustains reality?" That sounds like several things that actually exist; of course, they're probably attributing properties to it that are unjustified, but still. And there are people who define god as "love" or "everything" or whatnot, and what can you say about that? I mean, I believe in love... I'm not sure if I "believe in everything;" that seems either unarguably reasonable or else incredibly foolish. But the point is that unless you can pin a theist down as to what exactly their god is supposed to be (and you usually can't), you can't really argue one way or the other. It would be like arguing over the mating habits of unicorns.

But if they are kind enough to specify, "The God of the Old Testament" or somesuch, then I think I can fairly say that such a god does not exist.

Agreed. The only deity that I would find logical to accept would've been Eywa from Avatar. Of course it's a deity made up for the 2009 movie, but that deity was not omnipotent nor omniscient (well, atleast not omniscient outside of Pandora). It wasn't an entity that the natives of the fictional movie were just worshipping based on faith, it was one that they found its existence to be based on the underground bio-neural connections of the moon-planet.

I'm an atheist because I've yet to see any substantial evidence to prove the existence of a deity.
Progressivism 100
Socialism 56.25
Tenderness 50

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible realistic egalitarian with several strong convictions.

It can help contribute to charities and the homeless. While I don't like religion, it does have it's uses and it's not 100% evil.

Just, what?"

In capitalism, you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of being rich or poor. In communism, it's 1/99. What makes people think they have the luck/skill to become the 1% if they can't even succeed in a 50/50 society???

Atheist means ''I don't believe in God''
NOT ''I don't believe in GOD and am also close minded to the possibility of evidence to the contrary'''.
If you disbelieve in God, you are an Atheist, whether you are open to evidence, is another matter entirely.
