I don't really know what theism is enough to answer. Do I believe in "God": yes. Do I believe in Jesus: maybe... Am I a Catholic: religiously, not really, but I like most of the ideas presented by the religion.

The Jewish culture supersedes the Jewish religion.
Rather the Jewish religion's what started the culture, because the culture comes from the religion... you believe people in the desert began keeping Kosher culturally and then along came Ezra to say: "Let's make this religion?"

I believe a people in the desert, a proto-Jewish people, while wandering around formed the Jewish religion by denouncing all the other gods in the pantheon in which they believed. This formed the Jewish people. They changed their myths and perhaps some of their customs, but all in all everything was part of the Jewish culture, including the religion.

In capitalism, you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of being rich or poor. In communism, it's 1/99. What makes people think they have the luck/skill to become the 1% if they can't even succeed in a 50/50 society???

The religion formed the culture, who today keeps the culture? Those whose parents kept it? Why did they keep it? They probably were religious... the culture comes from the religion not the other way around.
Things refraining from certain actions on the Sabbath all of these actions are not in the Bible, they come from the Oral Law another part of the religion that most people keep (usually over the written Law, but eh.)
Languages, are another thing to notice.
Kippot and not mixing milk and meat aren't in the Bible itself, it comes from the Oral Law, the Oral part of our religion... perhaps this is the 'culture' of which you speak?
