That's not the Christian conception... the Paulinist conception follows more along the Greek line of Hades.

Oh, okay then. Thanks.

Do you mean Christian or Churchian?

Fine, Churchian.

I have an Atheist question. I know Atheists don't believe in any deity, but do you believe in anything spiritual? Like I mean even something as simple as ghosts.

I certainly don't believe in anything like that. Most atheists don't, chances are if you don't believe in a deity, you don't believe in other supernatural things, but it doesn't mean that atheists can't believe in those things.

That's about what I thought. I suppose there is no one true doctrine of beliefs for atheists, as it's not a religion.

Exactly. The definition of atheism is one who doesn't believe in a deity, so technically a atheist could believe in things like ghosts, superstitions, karma, magic etc.

Athiests are people who wholly reject any belief in anything supernatural. Someone who doesn't believe in any religion but believes in some supernatural things is an agonist.

Nope. An atheist is simply someone who doesn't believe in a deity.

Atheist means one who lacks theism, which involves a deity. Ghosts and the like aren't deities.

I used to be a pantheist, but then it reminded me of believing in a deity :/

The Catholic bible, if I remember correctly, says the serpent is Satan. I don't quite remember, though.

I don't believe so. I go to a Catholic school despite my atheism and we're told it doesn't represent Satan at all. Everyone assumes that, even though its not true.

But I could be wrong.

I believe Paradise Lost describes it nicely how Lucifer is the snake. Lucifer, I believe, is not Satan.

Well, you're probably right. I go to public school, and haven't been to mass in like three years. I just remember my Sunday School teacher saying it was the devil.

I know that. John Milton was however influenced by the KJV. You know what, I didn't pay attention during bible study on Sundays, so my statements are everywhere tonight :p

King James leaves out a few books. Judith, for example, though there are others.

The Bible... at least the Old Testament says nowhere is the Serpent Satan.

What that Bible does say is that Satan is the servant of God, why would God punish the servant if it was doing God's will?
