Who wants to go to heaven anyways?

All the cool people are in hell. Hell, with all the scientists it's probably air-conditioned by now.
Leftish-Libertarianish something.
Pro: Gun rights, gay rights, Atheism, moderate positions, Pittsburgh Steelers, hard rock/metal.
Anti: Homophobia/racism, intrusive gun control, most radical positions, extreme capitalism/communism/anything, Baltimore Ravens.

How do you know all the cool people are in hell? there are religions that favour logic and humanity other than the devout.

Eternal punish for finite crime is inherently unjust.
Once we take over we'll set up a proper justice system where people serve out their sentence.

Dead is dead. Why do we even care about what happens after we die? is it because we cannot comprehend not existing, as that is pretty much all we do?

Depends. I've heard that a better translation for the phrase "eternal punishment" is "an unspecified amount of time/a timeless period of trimming/pruning/correction". So, only forever in the same sense that math class is forever.
