The "universe" is irrelevant. We're talking about society here, and society is a human construct subject to human control.

Apparently, human agency is a concept you disagree with...

How dare these people demand a livable wage in return for the work they just did! That's so selfish of them! Think of your bosses for a second! They have it hard too!

You do realize the raising the minimum wage will help out the job market and allow more people to work, right?

Instead of people having to work two jobs to support themselves, they would only need one, freeing up the market for the unemployed.

We also had a thread about how raising the minimum wage actually doesn't increase unemployment and/or costs, in the end, for the employer.

Gimme a minute.

If you raise minimum wage all wage goes up and the money loses its value. You'll still have to get the second job because money is less value. It's called inflation.

The price of the labor does not change however, it is merely spread among more people.

Of course! The best way to solve this is to keep the minimum wage as low as possible. DUH!

But it's not really more money. If everyone makes more money its the same as making the normal amount. Also if minimum wage gets raised everyone's wage gets raised. Then money loses its value and then before you know it we are using Yen.

So the best way to solve this is to make the minimum wage about $1/day!

It might also price some employers out of having more employees. It's good for those who have jobs, but might not be so good for those looking for work.
