Nah, I was talking about the "French French." Of course if France is also embracing multiculturalism, would it also be wrong to say that France is it's own ethnic group when their are multiple ones in it? Where do you draw the line between race, ethnicity, and nationality? It's screwy in America, I would separate race to be a biological concept, ethnicity to be a cultural one, and nationality to be a national one.

(I am currently living in America, and they are way more chill about race. It's also more confusing.)

Jeez I never came across that insult before, but I just looked it up on the urban dictionary and it said "a racist named used by the english to insult the Irish in the 1800 and early 1900's."
I was only ever familiar with the term 'paddy' which nevr really insulted me that much, but "white nigger" is an awful thing to call someone (so too is nigger obviously).

The phonetic explanation is that "Celtic" comes from the French "celtique", so has traditionally been pronounced with an "s" (as in French). But with the invention of nationalism, Celtic groups have harkened back to the original Latin pronunciation, in which Cs are always Ks, hence "Keltic". Both are used and "acceptable".
