I consider myself to be white, but the government and my mother say I'm a "Hispanic or Latino".

Although I have to say "Hispanic" is not a race, it's an ethnicity -- and you can have Hispanics who are whiter than polar bears wearing pearls in a blizzard, others dark enough to be identified as black using the Mark I eyeball, and every shade of brown in between.

Also: not all blacks are "African-American". They're only "African-American" if 1) they are a naturalized American originally from an African nation or 2) their ancestors were originally slaves transported from Africa to America before that little Civil War thingie.. There are tons of blacks in America who'd be mortally offended to be called African American because they're from the West Indies, or the Caribbean, South America, or elsewhere.
