4. There are always legal attacks on civil rights laws of all types. It has little to do with racism.

1. Marissa Alexander's 25 year jail sentence heavily suggests that the selective application of Stand Your Ground is indeed racist.
3. Because deliberately trying to eliminate minority ability to vote clearly stands for "equal footing".
4. Racism just tends to become more permissible with legal attacks on civil rights.

The knock-off-the-wall explanation I heard somewhere was that chickens were cheap to raise back in the day, even cheaper than pigs, and were associated with the poor and 'lazier' since chickens were much easier to feed and care for than other farm animals (and also supplied eggs so were more multipurpose than other animals).

Not sure how much weight it holds, but it sounds legit.

If the first statement isn't really accurate, then it's hardly a "fairly accurate" description. He's had some victories, yes, but he's also had plenty of shortcomings. As a person who voted for him in both elections, I reserve my right to criticize him.
