And my point wasn't just to be fair-weather. But when youre talking to people from hardcore small town bible belt you have to moderate yourself at least a little bit otherwise every red state is going to block gay rights at every turn and guess what they'll be successful. I doubt that's the outcome you truly want. I'm all for indivigualism and free expression buyt there does come a point where it's just too much and becomes counterproductive.

Well like you said the threats that's the real issue. I have no problem with the free market working (including legal boycotts protests walkouts etc) as long as it stays legal. I believe the fact that it devolved to the point of threats of violence however undermines the position of the legitimate protesters as well.
