Honestly, I can see Jagr's number on rafters following his retirement. Deserves to be up there.

Give greatest of my respects to that man, for now I have found a good way to coach hockey in future: Bone-breaking but very systematic, with emphasis on transition games.

As a goalie in Rec League Hockey in Alabama, I find it so fun to play third defense man.

Anyways, here is my list for top 10 QMJHL prospects for upcoming NHL draft. I'll be doing one per every month, so enjoy:

1. Nikolaj Ehlers, LW(Halifax)
2. Ivan Barbashev, LW(Moncton)
3. Daniel Audette, C/LW(Sherbrooke)
4. Clark Bishop, C(Cape Breton)
5. Alexis Vanier, D(Baie-Comeau)
6. Vaclav Karabacek, RW(Gatineau)
7. Georgs Golovkovs, C(Drummondville)
8. Nicolas Aube-Kubel, RW(Val d'Or)
9. Mason McDonald, G(Acadie-Bathurst)
10. Julien Nantel, RW(Rouyn-Noranda)

Not as good as the 2013 class, but good enough to have 3-5 players on first round, with Barbashev and Ehlers to be in as locks.

So I was prowling YouTube, watching Let's Plays and Hockey Highlights, when I came back to that Todd Bertuzzi video I posted yesterday. Looking at the comments, some people actually defend Todd on his cheap shot to Steve Moore.

Hah, some? I could swear I saw half the people calling Bertuzzi a scumbag, and the other half saying Bertuzzi was right for cold-cocking Moore - who they also call a scumbag.

So now that we're on the topic of Bertuzzi, does anyone here think that letting him return to the NHL wasn't a mistake?

Yup. There is no monetary penalty that can fix Steve Moore.

It sickens me that Steve Moore will never lace up a pair of skates again, but Bertuzzi is still playing in the NHL.

The Bruins-Penguins game was a clear cut case of pathetic officiating letting a game get out of hand and players going over the top in reaction. There probably should have been four suspensions coming out of that game, which would have been the case if any of the offending players had been wearing Canucks jerseys.

The cheap shot slash from behind that broke Kelly's leg should have been a 3 game suspension. A Canucks player does this and it's 5-16 games for wearing the wrong jersey. Several players, not named Kessel, have been suspended multiple games for this kind of vicious stick work.

Orpik's big hit should have been called for a major penalty when it happened. The puck was in the vicinity, but not played by the victim, and it was a clear case of head hunting. Given that hits like this are Orpik's bread and butter, it was suspend worthy too. Given that the NHL is supposed to be protecting players from headhunting, the refs really dropped the ball and as a result things quickly got out of hand.

Neal's knee to the head is one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen in the NHL. Given that he's a repeat offender he should have thrown the book at him for such a bush league play and his failure to own up to it. 5 games isn't enough for a dirty hit like that and I say that as someone who really hates Marchant as a player.

Thornton overreacted to the referees doing a crap job and the Penguins getting away with cheap shot after cheap shot (this outrages Boston when they're not the ones dishing out the cheap shots for a change). He should get suspended for at least 5 games, but for some miraculous reason has never been called to the carpet for his previous acts of carnage, so they really shouldn't be throwing the book at him. Claude Julien should also be fined as the bench boss, for sending him out on a quick change, at the end of the play for the express reason of beating people up.

The referees responsible for this mess should be sent to the minors for mental conditioning and someone else take over their games for them. They did a crap job and were clearly not up for such a high profile assignment. Maybe give them some Florida-Islanders games to work, and keep them away from marquee match-ups until they're ready.

Right. Totally. I am definitely going to take you seriously for the rest of this post. Absolutely.
The cheap shot slash from behind that broke Kelly's leg should have been a 3 game suspension. A Canucks player does this and it's 5-16 games for wearing the wrong jersey. Several players, not named Kessel, have been suspended multiple games for this kind of vicious stick work.

No beef there. Should've been a call on the play. Should go up for review. Though the idea that a Canuck's player would have gotten a multi-game suspension for the same move is laughable at best.
Orpik's big hit should have been called for a major penalty when it happened. The puck was in the vicinity, but not played by the victim, and it was a clear case of head hunting. Given that hits like this are Orpik's bread and butter, it was suspend worthy too. It was a clean hit. Doesn't matter if you don't like it.
Neal's knee to the head is one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen in the NHL. One of the dirtiest, eh? Did you not see what Thornton did after the play?
Thornton overreacted to the referees doing a crap job and the Penguins getting away with cheap shot after cheap shot (this outrages Boston when they're not the ones dishing out the cheap shots for a change). He should get suspended for at least 5 games, but for some miraculous reason has never been called to the carpet for his previous acts of carnage, so they really shouldn't be throwing the book at him. Oh, apparently you did. And you want to treat Thornton more leniently than Neil? Something tells me you have an axe to grind here.
The referees responsible for this mess should be sent to the minors for mental conditioning and someone else take over their games for them. They did a crap job and were clearly not up for such a high profile assignment. Maybe give them some Florida-Islanders games to work, and keep them away from marquee match-ups until they're ready.

The refs missed a few calls and didn't give Neil the penalty he deserved, yes, but nothing they could have done would have stopped what happened during that game.

Phaneuf gets two for boarding. Cue everyone complaining about how if it was $team, he would've received 5.

Coincidentally: "Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Phaneuf will forfeit $66,666.66..."
