As apposed to the Libertarian dream of letting the corporations copyright certain hairstyles, requiring us to dye logos into our hair if we wish to have certain cuts.

See? I can strawman too.

What does shaving heads have to do with socialism? How is that involved with public or community ownership of the means of production?

Barbers rights. They're all unionised, and the lizards who really run things don't need haircuts anyway.

I'm disappointed that the North Koreans didn't consider the timeless classic: the mullet. Just like Kim Jong Un's palaces: business in the front, party in the back.

But if we don't have the government to tell us how to cut our hair, everything will descend into bad hair day chaos.

The funny thing about this is, Kim Jong-un seems to be rolling a custom hair style. I suspect he is a capitalist pig-dog infiltrator.

I just know there is like a foot of hair just rolling down in the back...confirms my mullet suspicion.

Also, why did he shave those two parts on the side? Not really getting that part of it.

He had an education in Switzerland so it could be that through Western impirialist propaganda he used to be Goth.

I can imagine Kim Jong-un in platformboots, a fishnet shirt and leather pants already.

The Genoese Cromanatum wrote:Now, I understand this may be very old news to some of you, however I figured it could spark an interesting debate. In North Korea, the state approves of only 28 choices of hairstyle, 18 of which can be chosen by females, and 10 that can be chosen by males.

I have two questions:

Do you approve of any of these hairstyles?

Do you believe the North Korean government should restrict what hairstyles the citizens can and cannot have?

I, myself, believe that North Korea should be able to do this. For some reason, the North Korean government's strict policies have made it's citizens love their country (educational brainwashing aside), and I admire that. Besides, some of those haircuts are pretty classy.

What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

People are also the means of production and the community (govt.) owns them.

Equality if the goal of socialism right? All are equal, there is no 'I' in 'We.'

"The Anthem" by Ayn Rand tells us about a society in which all are equal. It is a socialist paradise. The govt. has total control over all means of production, including the people. Have a read, it will prepare you for a socialist future:

Their constitution will disagree with you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constituti ... orth_Korea

The constitution establishes North Korea's official name and its status as a communist state.[9] Article 12 defines the country as a "dictatorship of people's democracy" (a wording that closely follows the Chinese model of the people's democratic dictatorship) under the leadership of the Workers' Party. It provides for civil and political rights, such as freedom of expression, the right to elect officials, the right to a fair trial, and freedom of religion. It asserts the right of every citizen to work, education, food, and health care. However, Article 81 requires that all North Koreans "firmly safeguard the political and ideological unity and solidarity of the people," and Article requires that citizens observe "the socialist standards of life."
