Should Ask.FM.com be closed down?

In the UK a couple of weeks ago a girl who was being bullied on ask FM. comitted suicide. which made me ask the question. Should we close it down? This was'nt just a one of thing on ask FM. apparentley it happens everyday on the site which a lot of companies have withdrawn there adverts from in the recent days.

No because people go online knowing that anyone can be anonymous and utilize such abilities. If they suffer online, they should just close their browser. Simple as that. Don't blame the site on it.

Anonymity is NOT your enemy. It is your friend. It is NOT what causes people to bully others but what helps people prevent being bullied. If you are anonymous and someone is harassing you than you can just leave and vanish into the cloud without a trace. Hell you can come back to the site with a different name and no one would know it's you. You have become untouchable, unassailable and dare I say unbullyable. The only people who think anonymity is bad are those who are stupid enough to leave personal information about them self on the internet. And the kind of people that ironically would be the only ones vulnerable to serious harassment as they not only leave plenty of munitions for the enemy to use but also allow them self to be tracked. And that is the equivalent of saying all locks are bad because you left the front door open and someone walked in and took your stuff.

When a person creates an account, they know the risks.. And if they start getting bullied, then they should delete/stop using the account. Not hard. No need to delete the website all together.
