I've seen pictures of the hajj. They flock to it, trampling each other, circle it repeatedly, kissing and touching and venerating the black rock. Just as the pagans did. It certainly looks like idol worship, and it certainly functions like idol worship.
Probably because it's idol worship.

Sure. It has become a Wahhabi Disney World theme park catering to the rich. Hardly what I think Muhammad would have wanted.
His companions are the one's who began expanding Mekkah and built the Mosque, each ruler of Mekkah has added to it to make it easier to access and allow for more worshipers.

I don't think they care much seeing how they destroyed his house to pit up a mall.
Expanding the city is one thing. But making it a marketplace at the expense of relics of Islamic heritage is quite another.

But you don't worship the stone any more than you worship the wailing wall or any such symbolic holy place.

Allowing more worshippers is one thing. Exploiting them is another. Did his companions build mega malls with luxury brands? Ridiculously over priced tacky Vegas like luxury hotels?
Money and earthly power has become the idols worshipped by the Saudi government.

Outside of Masjid Al Haraam it was known as a center of trade amongst Bedouin Arab traders from Yemen and Syria. They would sell the best dates and the finest of Thawbs and Turbans.

Whenever you post, I swear I feel like I'm reading a very badly translated version of the Quran.

Nobody said there could be no trade. There is a different between trade, and destroying everything to make a theme park to the super rich while the poor literally die.

Historical preservation means nothing I guess. Pretty much whey thing built in Muhmmads time has been destoyed. Which is interesting. We should emulate Muhammad by destroying everything building he built or was built in his time?

He would have done the same thing he was a man of the people if it benefited them he would do it.

Nevermind the fact that they literally named the damn country after themselves. That requires a pretty massive level of narcissism.
