One could choose not to (inter)breed because of one's own perceived inferiority, no?
Those with genetic disorders may choose not to have children for fear of passing on undesirable traits. Those ashamed of their race may reasonably choose not to interbreed for fear of condemning their child to a socially stigmatized life. Or they may simply feel that interbreeding "dilutes the quality" of a superior race.
