"Abolish" is a poor word choice. Many atheists are content with their own beliefs, and don't actively campaign against it. Those who do merely attempt to stop the spread of misinformation and general ignorance by religion, in an attempt to combat its negative effects on society.

Since nobody seems to be informing Fris on Dawkins's misogyny and he genuinely seems only to know it involves an elevator, here's what happened:

At an atheist conference. Dawkins is of course a major speaker, etc, etc. A group of people meet in the bar at the hotel where it's being held and talk. The discussion turns to misogyny within the atheist movement.

Afterwards, in the elevator, Dawkins is alone with one of the women from the discussion in the bar. He asks her if she wants to go to his room for coffee. Coffee was available at the bar. She declines.

Afterwards, she makes a video (She was already a Youtuber, I think making videos about atheism and feminism) saying that if men want to make women feel at home at their conferences, behavior like Dawkins's doesn't help, especially after that specific discussion.

You can imagine the results. Massive YouTube-fueled backlash. Dawkins posts a sarcastic comment basically saying she has no right to complain, which eggs the trolls on. And so on. Google "Dawkins" and "Skepchick" to find the whole story.

tl;dr: Dawkins is not good at being a human being. Good biologist maybe, but not good person.

Wait a second, asking people out is misogyny now?

I think mainly it was because he asked her out right after a discussion of sexual harassment and misogyny at atheist conferences, and really the main bit was the backlash. Rape threats, etc. And Dawkins refused to denounce them, instead basically joining them by sarcastically dismissing what she said. So yeah, mostly the misogyny was in the backlash. If it had been just the asking out, it would have been a blip, recounted in one video, and a polite request that people not do that sort of thing. With the backlash, it becomes actually serious.
