It really baffles me, the level of arrogance needed to make such posts. I mean, it's one thing to assume that people on a debate forum might want to debate things with you...that seems fair and reasonable, even if your ideas are kinda shitty.

But to assume that other people just want to hear your beliefs, for no reason, with you openly stating that you're not interested in discussion and making it plain that you won't contribute anything useful?

Ah, My childhood was just fine my friend, I never went to church as a child and my parents did not practice religion but as i grew older and started my own family i began to still think of god as the eternal ruler (But i still do not go to church neither does my Girlfriend soon to be wife)

This is a debate forum. If you refuse to debate, people will call you out on that. Nobody cares about your opinion, unless you are willing to debate it. You are not special. If you make claims and refuse to say why they are true, you will be assumed to be wrong.

I have no clue what happens when we die. Nobody does. All in all though, I wouldn't want to bet there isn't life after death, of some kind...like a guy, say, who commits mass murder because he has terminal cancer and doesn't give a crap, there's no life after death, right? (There was a Homicide episode like this.) On the other hand I dunno how much I'd wanna bet there is life after death.

Well I could understand from an Atheist standpoint how you would fear death and the unknowns of the afterlife (if any).

This is interesting to me, because my personal experience has been that theists are the ones who tend to fear death, while atheists are far more likely to be OK with the idea of dying. Indeed, fear of death, and a need to believe that one won't REALLY die, seems to be one of the primary reasons given by theists for why they are theists in the first place.

I can tell you now - I'm an atheist and the idea of death terrifies me. I'd much prefer there to be an afterlife.

1) When a human dies, acknowledging the severe connectedness of the body and mind. the mind ceases to exist. End of story.
2) Wait and see.
The first is based off logic, the second off common sense.
That's really all we have. Near-Death_Experiences are hallucinations.
