I honestly don't get why people get so agitated by the mere concept of a life after death. I'd rather die happily expecting to see my family and friends again, than morbidly expecting for everything I am to cease to exist forever. In the end its not like I'll be any worse off for hoping.

Fire Emits light.
As Hell is described as a lake of fire, Hell would, by nature, be a pretty bright place.
Most references to "hell" per se in the NT are actually translated from Gehenna. Gehenna was the place of the gnashing of teeth, where the fire never went out.
In other words, the Jerusalem city dump. The trash continuously burned, and wild animals fought over scraps of food. As they fought, their teeth would gnash.
That's right, hell is living in a garbage dump. Forever.
There are references to a "lake of fire" elsewhere, particularly Revelation, but... well... Revelation... All I'm going to say is that I think it should be declared the equivalent of the Inferno, so non-canon but still influential. There's no way to deny its influence, unfortunately. If you must have an apocalyptic book, use Good Omens.

Revelations is the single most awesome-badass passage in the Bible.

I am an atheist but it is hard for my brain to register that all humans completely cease to exist when they die. It is easy to believe that when you die, you go to some magical world but I think that is a illogical way of thinking and understanding things. It is very unknown whether or not such a place exists and I think that is what scares me. I don't think anyone has a good understanding of what happens when a person dies, but I am going to throw it out there for NSG to discuss.
What happens after you die? Is there some sort of after life or do you completely cease to exist forever? Do you reincarnate into another living thing? Are scared to die?

In capitalism, you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of being rich or poor. In communism, it's 1/99. What makes people think they have the luck/skill to become the 1% if they can't even succeed in a 50/50 society???
