I don't believe in any god.

However, I've been known to shout "Joke's on you, bitches, I'm reincarnating!" when the hyper-religious people in my town start talking about how I'm going to hell and whatnot.

Honestly, I try not to think about the metaphysical and stick to philosophy grounded in the real world. And that philosophy is basically, "YOLO, might as well make it count".

I say as I lock myself in my room with noms and water to watch Doctor Who and see what insanity is happening on NationStates.

Urban dictionary entry for "YOLO": The dumbass's excuse for something stupid that they did.

Carpe diem far better encapsulated the idea of making every day count. It also doesn't make you sound like a complete idiot.

Unfortunately about three people in my town know what carpe diem means, and I never feel like saying "it means make every day count or something to that effect" whenever I say it or reference it. YOLO, especially when you say it in a non-idiotic sounding way gets my opinion and philosophy across pretty well to the swaggots in my town.

"Wait, so, what are you talking about? Pedophilia or something?"
"Philosophy."
"What the fuck is that you stupid nerd?"
"Simply put, mine is 'yolo'."

I base my non-belief in the logic saying that I'd be following in yet another mindless follower's footsteps if I take the religious road ... not only that, but most religions that I've come across, main ones included, are just stupidly liable to fraud, word change in holy text through interpretation and translation, and power grabs through influence of the simple minded. I have no plans for being in any part of that and would rather spend my life believing in what I see and know for a fact to be true.

That said, I'm one to believe that the self-sufficient and isolated lifestyle is the best one.

Yet to see any god do that. Or anything at all, really. Based on that, I'm reasonably optimistic about my chances.

Wrong. Atheism is the lack of belief in a deity or deities.

I am a Lutheran. I believe quite firmly that God exists, and find Theism to be the more logical choice.

I've been told a few times on this forum that agnosticism doesn't exist, which puts me in a bit of an existential quandary.

I don't believe in a god, however I do not rule out the possibility that one could potentially exist. Governed my natural laws. I find it extremely unlikely however, but as I cannot say with absolute 100% certainty that there is not a god, I do not feel it is fair to call myself an atheist, as if belief is an either/or question. Unless you consider that belief is based entirely on blind faith, in which case you may consider me an atheist if it makes you happy.

It's astronomically unlikely, but not impossible. That's my stance.

You are an atheist. Atheism simply means "without belief in god(s)".

Belief is an either or. Either you are convinced & believe, or you are not & don't.

Agnosticism does exist, but it's often interpreted as a separate third position somewhere between atheism and theism that says "I withhold judgement". That's not what it is, all it means is that you accept the possibility that you might be wrong in your belief or lack of belief. ("I believe, I don't know.") It's possible to be both an atheist and an agnostic, in fact that's probably the more common atheist position.

Yeah, this.

What is "God"?

He's a Lutheran. So obviously the Abrahamic take on God.

I don't think god doesn't exist. I don't know if it does either. But first, i am not sure what 'god' is.

So... yeah. Anyway it is safe to say that i don't believe in the existence of any abrahamic god.

So are you agnostic? Diest? Theist? Atheist?

What are you exactly?

Asking people to define their terms is now "militant"?

Neat. So I don't actually have to do anything, or actually be militant at all, I just have to ask people to define terms and I get the title. I approve.
