Of course we didn't evolve from apes, if we did evolve (which I'm not saying we did) we would have evolved from an ancestral primate.

One does not believe in evolution.
One is aware of it.

The alternatives to being are aware of it are being unaware of it, or wilfully ignoring it.

I am aware of the occurrence of evolution.

I don't believe in it, I accept that it is almost indisputably fact.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Evolution is a fact whether you choose to believe in it or not.

But if you choose not to, then you are adverting your own willful ignorance - no less so than if you went around proclaiming that the Earth was flat and that the sun revolved around it.

Evolution is made way too complicated sometimes, which is why people remain ignorantly skeptical of it.

If you don't "believe" in evolution, I would ask the following:

If there are two giraffes in an area with only tall trees, and one has a genetically longer neck, which one will survive?

Okay, so obviously the one with the longer neck.

If there are five thousand giraffes in an area with only tall trees, and half have genetically longer necks, more of which group will survive?

Obviously more of the ones with the longer neck.

After several generations, will the average giraffe have a longer neck than the average giraffe of two hundred years ago?

Obviously yes.

Congrats, you "believe" in evolution.

I find it more believable that the earth is 4.25 billion years old then 6,000.

Here are some examples of observed evolution. The changes are generally not major because we have not had very long to observe these animals.

Single-celled organisms evolving to multi-celled ones. This was under artificial selection pressure, but was a simple process that could easily happen outside the lab.
Bird wings shortening to avoid cars.
Allele frequency changing in moths for better camouflage on trees. Please note that this particular case did not involve genetic mutations.
Bacteria evolving many different features. The results are described on Wikipedia.
Elephants losing tusks to avoid poachers.
Fish developing a gene allowing them to survive a toxic river.
Lizards losing limbs in order to travel better on sand.
Other lizards evolving to give birth to live young, the better to incubate eggs (since they're kept warm in the body).
More lizards still rewiring their guts when placed in a new ecosystem.

To all the religious people, does the knowledge of evolution have to do with your salvation? Do you think God would treat you differently if you said "I accept evolution as fact" than if you said "I don't accept evolution as a fact"? If you say "No" then kindly stop condemning those that accept evolution as fact. If you say "Yes" then let us all judge you.

Personally, I accept evolution in some degree. I also accept creationism in some degree. Call me a moderate, but I really don't care about this subject.

And you're going to hang around to not discuss or debate your opinion some more? Why are you even on this debate and discussion forum if you're not going to debate and discuss? Are you lost? Drunk? A poorly designed adbot?

No.
1. One does not believe in science. Science is not a belief system - it is a method of obtaining information.
2. Science should be the first thing one turns to. It shouldn't be the second thing in-case religion is insufficient.
