Faces are made from the gene pool, different countries have different, average, characteristics.

When you have countries as big and as varied as France and Germany, the distinction is meaningless.

Do you want me to post the World's Map of average cup size? Is it really a sin to want to go somewhere that has something I like better? Wine, the laws, the landscape, what makes going to it over a women, on top of the other benefits, so awful? I'm a guy, I objectify. 2. Perhaps, I would have to do more research but I believe in countries with more homogenous birth lines (the Moslem in both, but I think they're ostracized by the whites. Factually, I don't know.) their facial structure is different. The Japanese have square faces, Chinese have round faces, Vietnamese, genetically, are pigeon-toed (a Viet woman told me, I looked it up and its true).

3. Most women are insecure, especially the young. Hell, most people are insecure. Besides, contentment makes you fat. It does matter. If a woman only speaks French, I need to know French to converse with her generally.

I had a fiegning interest in moving to Sweden. Quick note, I forgot the name, I think it's called Kafi or something, but like the British have tea-time the Swedes have COFFEE-TIME. And I love Coffee. Love it. Sweden also has, along with Russia (and Scandinavia) and average breast size larger than D. Which is like, omfg, lovely. They, however, do not have C&C (concealed and carry) laws which is a GARGANTUAN bummer. And yea, I just like Sweden because of how the gov'ts run and I want to do some research on anti-corruption practices (Singapore would probably be better, but damn Sweden is lovely) Plus I like the Cold, a lot. And white women. And Blond hair.

Grammar will seem like a piece of cake after Spanish.

@Snaf, My interest in Scandinavia started because of the success of their Social programmes (most notably Denmark, which has maintained an unemployed % lower than 6% during the depths of the great recession) and I wanted to find out if it was because of their relative advantage (i.e. not being destroyed industrially in WW1&2) or because of the programs themselves. There was a guy on here, Jenrak, he had a doctorate and did his dissertation on the Scandinavian Welfarestates (I'm actually economically disinterested Norway because it's a petrol-state, but so is Russia, they just have like the 2nd best grain production in the world), sadly as soon as I got serious I haven't been able to find him again.

But yea, the breast size certaintly intensified my study. Got bogged down in school, etc, but really this whole thread has been very informative.

But seriously, if you're looking at Scandinavian languages. I vote for Norwegian for the reasons above. It's also not hard to learn the other two if you know one. But, pick a language you'll use the most.

Dictionary. All Dictionary and a little bit of interest with the suddenly-awesome-just-add-Nazis language got me do it.

The same motivation applied for the Russians got me able to decipher 75% of the Cyrillic alphabet on my own.

Leaving aside the terrifyingly casual sexism and racism, your explanations of all of them would definitely recommend German. It's ridiculously easy to tell the difference between someone learning a language because they love it, and someone speaking it to impress people and boost their feeling of self-worth. Specifically, the latter category tends to absolutely mangle the language, because speaking a language well is really hard work!

German seems to be the only language you're pursuing because of a true interest in its culture, history, and outlook, not just unrealistic romantic notions. Of course it has all of the advantages described above as well, but really, learning a language is like getting a job or pursuing anything else in life. If you don't have a passion for it, you'll burn yourself out; in all likelihood, you'll just wind up frustrated, and within a few years you'll have forgotten almost everything you learned anyway. On the other hand, with German, the longer you pursue it the more you'll enjoy it, since it seems like you would be more inclined to start using the skills you earned to read more complex works, see movies, etc.
