I already have my rights. They don't deserve a god damn raise that high or even close. Working fast food is not suppose to be a carer. It should be something for high school and college kids. Not people trying to support a family.

Says who? You?

If they want to make a career of fast food, more power to them. Who are we to say that they shouldn't be making money off of their exploits?

That's completely nuts.

Minimum wage jobs comprise a huge section of the workforce in any country. People have been raising families in these roles forever.

Yes says me. How the hell can you take pride from a job where all you do is throw what amounts to modern gruel into cardboard boxes and ask if they want fries with that?

Who says there has to be pride? They're there to work to make ends meet, and that is something to be proud of, if the work itself isn't.

How the hell can someone take pride in dealing with sewage? How can someone take pride in mowing lawns? How can someone take pride in cleaning offices?

You'd be surprised how much pride can be had from holding down a job and paying your own way. Not everyone is going to be a millionaire.

Just trying to make a example out of the gas prices. :meh: Even though 70$ is not a real price range for big macs.

If you actually think gas prices have anything to do with labour costs, then you really have no clue how prices work.

What's the substantive difference between flipping burgers and cleaning toilets? People in those types of roles are generally in it for the money.

I too want to make an example out of petrol prices. That'll teach them to be so high!

Because people buy it. What is shameful about supplying a demand?

If you can't take pride in your work, then work just turns into a lifetime of misery until you retire or more likely die from eating a diet of Big Macs for 40 years.

I can find no fault in someone who works through utter misery to put a son in college, or to care for themselves or their family. I'm so sorry not everyone is as privileged as you, but some people must take these jobs for extended, often indefinite periods of time simply to ensure them and their families survive.

What about people who have been trying to find another job but can't get one? If you've been unemployed, you'll happily take whatever job you get.

When you have a crap role then you take pride where you can. Not taking any sick time for 5 years, never burning a burger, a nice letter left by a customer.

Sure, in an ideal world we'd all love our job and take pride in our work. Sadly many people don't have the choice to have an amazing job and take whatever they can to support themselves and their family.
