i'm sort of surprised this thread hasn't gotten more attention than it has almost solely because when a state acts like this it's very often one of the first steps that lead to genocide (we've seen this story repeated throughout history several times in our post-WWII earth) and as i understand there was already quite a schism in greece over the treatment of minorities

I'm rather stunned myself. Hell, even if this doesn't lead to genocide, this is still fucked up beyond belief, so why is there not more attention on this?

(incoming cynicism) i'm willing to bet that a lot of people aren't willing to perceive a country like greece, so connected to the developed economies of the world, as being a perpetrator of something so violent, particularly concerning the complex economic situation from there which as i see it is drumming up a lot of support for radical policies that shift the blame

there's no need to compare this against the holocaust, though (something of that scale sounds unlikely, obviously) because it can't be denied that this is a bad thing and it will damage the country and likely cost people their lives and freedom, and that's bad enough

Can you explain further? The last country to round up people it didn't like and go extremist became one of the most powerful empires in history and invented/paved the way to inventions that we use to this day, every day. The Ancient Greeks weren't too far off, either. Surely the Roman Empire who did similar things (with slaves as well!) was a "bad, damaged country", right?

A societal disaster to be honest. I thought we've long moved away from the days of discrimination over the colour of their skin, or where they come from.

That isn't really possible until we separate. Different races and cultures just can't mix, and we've seen that time and time again. The Greeks are returning to the old days, I personally would expect to see Greece either rise up to be powerful again or be crushed by the armies of liberalism.

Until we learn that we can't mix together peacefully and learn that everyone needs their own land to get along, stuff like this will happen. The South Africans attacked and killed over 3,800 Afrikaan farmers just for being white, and I didn't see any news coverage of that. Europe is being destroyed and rotted from the inside out, and I still see nothing about it. This is self defense, every other race and culture has done it and will do it, so to assume that Europeans need to let themselves disappear is just horribly bigoted.

Right, Europe is the only place that people of different ethnicities are trying to live together. Cos India totally only has one ethnic group...

It's a problem because people coming to Europe are mostly asylum seekers fleeing punishments for crimes they committed in their home countries. They go to Europe, and they rape women, riot in the streets, and act like they're superior to the Europeans. Muslims have even said that they are going there to conquer Europe. Europe is being INVADED, it isn't natural immigration that's occurring there. Muslims and other immigrants go there with the intent of taking over the land, replacing the culture with their own, and brutalizing the people. Europe was once the most powerful region in the world, full of nationalists and power, and today it's being reduced to a garbage, third world hell hole because of immigrants. They lower the living standards (most do) and commit crimes they know they won't be punished for because of liberals. That is why it's a problem. It isn't "racialy motivated" as idiotic liberals claim, it's because nationalists are fighting against the people who are trying to kill them.

And at least in W.Europe you have their papers (most of the time) and know who they are and what they did and what diseases they carry. We don't know shit about them and always try to get trialed as minors when they commit crimes (even if they are 30+)
