Humans don't try to *kill* each other in martial sports. We follow rules and stop before it gets to that point. At least we do above ground.
Consider that distinction before justifying or condemning one practice by citing the other. Apples and oranges.

Well I've never seen it as too much of a problem. If people can be a-ok with hunting, which can still be pretty brutal, then they should be ok with bear-baiting and cock-fighting, which, whilst brutal, have some commercial and entertainment value.
