Hypocrisy of the highest order. http://www.hrweb.org/legal/cpr.html The UN recognizes marriage as a human right. The representatives of the countries that claim to support civil rights are idiots.

I am to lazy to read the whole declaration. Just show the important parts. The Europeqn court has certainly read the UN documents and there is not such thing that gay mar. are human.right. The judges were rational.

Read your Bible. It clearly states that homosexuality is a sin.

The bible says alot of things that are morally wrong.

If I want to marry a woman, I want a marriage.
If I want to marry a man, I want a marriage.

Marriage is not religious, and Christians don't get to decide if it is or not.

It doesn't say it that explicitly, actually. I'm not Christian and I know this. What kind of a Christian are you if this person who will end up in Hell knows more than you?

After much speeches by UN officials (including the Secretary-General and Human Rights Commissioner) over the years, and the promising passage of a pro-equality LGBT rights resolution through the UN Human Rights Council in 2011, the UN is launching a worldwide education campaign and permanent global project to promote equal rights, in a sign that the entire world is properly stepping into the 21st century:

>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uaHZWCgGss&list=UU5O114-PQNYkurlTg6hekZw - UN Secretary-General: "LGBT rights is one of the great neglected human rights challenges of our time" (2nd speech on LGBT rights)

>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps5FkwnpCpQ - UN HR Commissioner condemns homophobia
>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MudnsExyV78 - absolutely inspiring speech by Hillary Clinton at the United Nations - "gay rights are human rights and human rights are gay rights"

Hillary's speech in particular left Arab and African delegates stony faced, but received thunderous applause from the delegates of all developed countries, and almost all North American, South American, and European delegates, most Oceanian/Pacific delegates as well as of the more developed Asian countries (South Korea, Japan), along with Thailand, Mongolia, India, South Africa, Israel, and Nepal (this also indicates how voting at the UN occurs on this issue, with all developed countries, almost all of North America, South America, and Europe, as well as the specifically aforementioned Asian and African countries and a few others - i.e. the more developed/democratic ones - voting in favour, while almost all the African, Islamic, and Central Asian regimes vote against).

It's pretty much a story of all the world's developed countries and other democracies supporting equal rights while all the backward and tyrannical regimes oppose equality.

And here's the new United Nations website wholly dedicated to the project, dubbed Free & Equal (a phrase from from the 1st section of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights) - https://www.unfe.org/

Needless to say, as any thinking person would, I am quite pleased by this. It's great that the United Nations - which represents the global community and all the world as a whole - is finally firmly standing up for the rights of hundreds of millions of LGBT children and adults around the world, vowing to protect all people from discrimination, violence, backwardness, & bigotry, and promoting equal rights for all. It won't be easy getting the entire world firmly into the 21st century, but it can be done.

Thoughts?

Does it really matter? The UN is nothing more than a toothless joke of an organization. Just because they issue a resolution, it doesn't mean that anything will occur.

Sure you can disagree...but you can't break it. It's legally binding, and it's also one of the few things keeping some random nutjob from censoring, raping or killing you without anyone defending you.

Irrelevent, unless the country you are in explicitly states that the principles in the Bible and of the Christian Church are correct and proper for you to be following.

In case you're American, that means it's irrelevent. If you're not, I apologise.
