Hypocrisy of the highest order. http://www.hrweb.org/legal/cpr.html The UN recognizes marriage as a human right. The representatives of the countries that claim to support civil rights are idiots.

Hillary's speech in particular left Arab and African delegates stony faced, but received thunderous applause from the delegates of all developed countries, and almost all North American, South American, and European delegates, most Oceanian/Pacific delegates as well as of the more developed Asian countries (South Korea, Japan), along with Thailand, Mongolia, India, South Africa, Israel, and Nepal (this also indicates how voting at the UN occurs on this issue, with all developed countries, almost all of North America, South America, and Europe, as well as the specifically aforementioned Asian and African countries and a few others - i.e. the more developed/democratic ones - voting in favour, while almost all the African, Islamic, and Central Asian regimes vote against).
It's pretty much a story of all the world's developed countries and other democracies supporting equal rights while all the backward and tyrannical regimes oppose equality.
And here's the new United Nations website wholly dedicated to the project, dubbed Free & Equal (a phrase from from the 1st section of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights) - https://www.unfe.org/
Needless to say, as any thinking person would, I am quite pleased by this. It's great that the United Nations - which represents the global community and all the world as a whole - is finally firmly standing up for the rights of hundreds of millions of LGBT children and adults around the world, vowing to protect all people from discrimination, violence, backwardness, & bigotry, and promoting equal rights for all. It won't be easy getting the entire world firmly into the 21st century, but it can be done.
Thoughts?

Can we please talk about LGBT rights in the context of reality, instead of the Christian Taliban's Fantasyland?

No, we can factually say that those who support discrimination against others on grounds of a nonharmful trait are not contributing to sentient wellbeing, and thus are morally wrong.Industries wrote:Just because you say so .

I am to lazy to read the whole declaration. Just show the important parts. The Europeqn court has certainly read the UN documents and there is not such thing that gay mar. are human.right. The judges were rational.
The right of men and women of marriageable age to marry and to found a family shall be recognized.

Does it really matter? The UN is nothing more than a toothless joke of an organization. Just because they issue a resolution, it doesn't mean that anything will occur.
