We should give the newest poster a modship. That'd be interesting.

Well the first mods were relatively new posters, because everyone was. As far as I know, The Archregimancy hadn't been around long before being modded (though I don't know other nations he may have had before).

Anything under 6 months experience would be rather rash though. Not every poster who seems promising works out; I think sometimes they decide that NS is just too stupid for them, or sometimes they're disappointed that they're not getting the attention their posts deserve. Perhaps also, because of the option to create mulitple nations without penalty, we tend to assume that someone who seems good right off the bat is probably an old poster with a new nation.

So I always go out of my way to make new posters feel at home, by tripping them up and banging their head on the pavement a few time just like I do with my old mates ...

Worse than that really, because the "rules" are just guidelines. If you're well within them you're fine of course, but to actually make decisions based on them you'd need to know a lot of precedent.

It still surprises me sometimes how rude posters are allowed to be about another poster's way of thinking or motivation (which seem quite personal to me) but still be considered to be "attacking the post not the poster". I'm not saying I don't do it myself.

Well, I assume it goes under "attacking the ideology" and if that wasn't allowed General would disappear. Not saying that all cases of attacking an ideology are okay, just that they get a hell of a lot more leeway than attacking a poster gets.
