Mostly it's a security thing. You go around posting daddum's name profession and home town, anyone can get his personal info in about 15 seconds with a simple Google search. His university page links to his personal website and getting his email address was a triviality. You cannot go around spreading your personal details unless you really want trouble. This isn't fucking facebook, it's all public here and shows up on Google searches.
