Most Costcos I know of are extremely defensible. Large shelves, huge shutter gates, the place is a haven. I'm not sure how it would do in a Class 3 outbreak, though.

Pack up some supplies. Weapons, food, first aid and water. The standard. And move to the most isolated area I can. Possibly Canada or Alaska wilderness. Lower population means less zombies. And I know how to hunt, fish and while I may not be the best survivalist around I find my odds good. And while everyone goes en mass to the military bases including those infected and end up dying I will be either alone or with a very small group out in the wilderness probably going weeks or months without seeing a single zombie at a time.

I'd go to school. No seriously think about it, they are built to keep students in and dangers(pedophiles) out. Also you could start farming on the playing fields. Plenty of room for more survivors and my school has solar panels so we could get electricity for that. Once we have secured the area I would get a large van and more routine trips into town for supplies.

How will we defend ourselves you ask, simple get a load of gunpowder from fire works and make lots of bombs. Eventually we would build up a small army and kill all the zombies in the town and build a massive stone wall cutting the town off from the rest of britain.

In the distant future our decendents would sail to the Isle of Man, kill all the zombies and begin populating there again. And thus the 2nd British empire would begin...

Few schools are easily defensible. Also, most of the defenses used to keep pedophiles out are measures like silent alarms and such that are designed as a direct link to the police, a force that will be too busy with other battles.
