Nothing about you being who you are demands that you keep saying "This is gay culture." you can be who you are just fine, and call it what it is. Pride culture.
You don't need to drag the rest of us into it and make us victims of you perpetuating this bullshit.

It's called gay culture.

Rather than say "I'm not like that, so it's not gay culture", why not say "I'm like this, so this is also part of gay culture"?

So heteronormativity is gay culture.

Being gay is not a culture.

However, there is a gay culture.

But, you know, I understand that it's easier to simply post than to read even part of the thread for context.

I don't care about those guys unless they are doing their pride parades which is a " funny " show and they aren't helping their " cause " .

Ooh, yes, I remember the wodka in watermelon thing. Usually with some orange juice and straws. And then a huge group having to drink it bottoms up with the straws.

You know, it's flamboyant anti-watermelonists like you who ruin this movement for the good anti-melonists. If you'd just tone it down and take a goddamn slice to fit in, instead of throwing your anti-melonism in everyone's face, then maybe we could make some progress.

Yes, but you people are supposed to know better for gods sake.

Who are "you people"? Most people don't think of me as bi because I'm in a relationship with a dude.
And while I attend pride parades when I can (because they're fun), I don't tend to march in them (this year I might bring a poster to hide some bigots from the people who are marching because the parade here gets assholes picketing it). I can appreciate a good time when I see it and other than the bigots who show up, the community is generally supportive.

Well fuck. Who'da thunk they'd kidnap us all and put us on this boat ride with them to- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!? Don't make holes in the ship!!! That's an awful strategy on how to get out of here!!!

No. YOU are part of gay culture. The fact that you are heteronormative is irrelevant. Take part in a parade, join a rights organization, or participate in some way in the community at large, and you're part of the culture. Neil Patrick Harris isn't effeminate, but he takes part in rallies and marches. Ellen DeGeneres is somewhat androgynous without being at all butch, but she's definitely part of the culture. You don't need to dress in drag, to lisp, to snap your fingers, or to shave yourself down, oil yourself up, and dance to club music in order to be part of the culture. You just have to accept the fact that it's there, and participate in your own way. Or you could also opt out, but then you forfeit your moral right to complain that you aren't being represented. Want people to see that gay people are diverse? Then be part of the diversity!
