People who look at gay pride parades and think "Woh, what the fuck?" and get uncomfortably aren't being told regularly enough that that ISN'T how gay people act. It's how Priders act.
To some of them, it's probably their only exposure to openly gay people. Especially in areas where being in the closet is basically mandatory.

Gay rights will come with or without popular acceptance because there are courts which exist to uphold laws. It might take a bit longer, but I don't see how sacrificing one's identity is worth it in the long run.
