Since long hair is high maintenance people with it generally fuss over their hair or look like vagrants.

I don't really know or care who does it more, but if it will please your sensibilities, I will indicate that I also have a problem with sports because they are a vast waste of time and money and they promote a fraternity-style climate of anti-intellectualism.

Really? Is that why mathematicians are prized in Baseball? Is that why coach strategy is probably the most valuable asset in American Football?

Sports culture is very "fraternal", I'll give you that, at least in the States. Extremely sexist too (ever see "women's league" football? Jesus Christ, the outfits are skimpy as fuck). I was reading about female umpires in the minor leagues a while back, and that shit was awful.

Exaggerated excitement is a fairly unisex one.

So then you might say you dislike flamboyant sports fans because they're flamboyant (and not just because they're sports fans)?

What I note is some of those opinions, generally those on the 'denigrating side', don't seem to hold in account individual freedom, and how one should be free to be whatever one wants.

We didn't accelerate our prosody and phonology in the 19th century onward. In the 1820s European Portuguese wasn't absurdly hard either.

There is a strong divide in the LGBT community over effeminate (sissy) + affected men. The ones who hate them, the ones who hate those hating them, the ones who are them, and the ones wholly indifferent or alienated from the controversy.

In Brazil the latter group is almost non-existent. Perhaps in cultures where gender roles are more liberated there isn't such a strong issue about it, and you both escaped. But I didn't saw people who didn't knew about it, before.
