Denmark Bans Pork in Preschools / UK Mandatory Islamic Unit

The federal government of Denmark has officially banned the consuming of pork in Copenhagen preschools.

The US curriculum has done a unit on Islam for quite a long time. Guess that's just evidence that Obama is a Muslim and he's letting all those damn immigrants in.

Really, if you can't eat pork, don't eat it. You don't need to ban it.

I don't mind the Islamic unit, alot of non-western cultures accomplished many things that get overlooked. An Islamic history unit would be interesting to me.

re the latter part...I remember being taught about Islamic history when I was younger and going to an English school. All part of the mandatory R.E. (Religious Education) course. That would have been...oohhhhh....around 1980 I think.

So yeah...meh.

I demand meat ban.

Meat is completely unnecessary, its flavor can completely be substituted, and only leads to more environmental consuming of resources getting scarcer and scarcer.

Actually every children as young as 4 should have the power to state its desire to be vegan to the government, we enshrine it as their first power over their own bodies and lives (since we still sadly still are going to have genital mutilation for at least some decades more) and held it sacrossanct and support it in research and economic means in all term, and it should support it in spite of the parents' beliefs, since food choice is something very serious, children already having healthy and environmentally-friendly choices as early as this is a beautiful thing.

P.S. I'm an omnivore. But I stated my desire to be vegan pretty consistently between when I was 3 and 10. Pretty sure if people respected my decision I wouldn't be obese right now, and wouldn't also be sedentary because having a social life would be easier then.

Have we really? Colorado, as far as I know, hasn't really ever had an Islamic History unit. Just a general religious history unit.

I myself went through five years of an American curriculum and I know several dozen others who have too. Few of them didn't learn about Islam.

The Spanish want to ban bullfighting by their own free will because they believe it is barbaric, and it is a much more important part of their culture.

Not a surprise there. Across Europe, the islamic norm is taken as the basic norm, and anything that goes against it is considered wrong for everyone. That's why a Dutch catholic school served only halal meat and no pork. "Because of multiculturalism." Of course, Hindus still got offered beef, but they don't go rioting and threatening and killing people if they don't get their way, so that's not a problem.
