Of course, there are a few video-games that are genuinely sexist, but this doesn't make a whole industry sexist.
There are also communities that are, overall, generally quite sexist, but these communities are usually limited to the FPS genre, and again, doesn't imply sexism exists throughout the entire video-game industry.
Watch an Anita Sarkeesian video. That's an example of the height these arguments go. Yes, I know, it's hilarious.

You mean comprehensively researched videos that point out the existence of disturbing trends?
I mean it's not dissertation level but it's fairly well done for an internet piece.

Sadly, my favorite freaky weird illegal sex partner is currently located on the opposite side of the continent, so it's more like "remaining completely sober on ginger ale and working on building a website about tomatoes." Not quite as much fun, more's the pity.

Oh I have several points I've already made, on many occassions. You confuse "not having a point to make" with "not having a point I'm capable of understanding". Which, you know, isn't all that surprising really. It's kinda like showing the Mona Lisa to a blind dude. The painting is there. You just can't see it.
My argument is, and always has been, quite clear. You just seem to lack the capacity to understand it.

Nicely done.

Because you have no clue what sexism is.
Also, Super Mario Brothers 2 was basically Mario characters (introducing Toad) replacing sprites from a different Japanese game because the Japanese version of the game was too hard and Nintendo didn't want to risk the popularity of the series in the US. The only reason Peach can float is that one of the characters in the original game can float.
Also... she sucks at digging. All of the characters have their good and bad sides. Luigi can jump super high (but his jumps are hard to control), Toad can dig super fast (but can't jump very high) and Mario is just decent all around.

...That was a joke.

Namely the emphasis on white heterosexual male leads.
There isn't anything specific about games.
If anything, it's way more understandable here since the vast majority, instead of just a plurality or minority, are ACTUALLY white heterosexual males.
As such, focusing on games is completely missing the point. You need to focus on societies conception of what "Normal" is. As soon as you accept that, you immediately see why Sarkeesians videos are going to be a huge fucking waste of time and just drag oonnn and onnnn and ooonnnn and make tonnes of factual errors, all going over the same basic point.
That white heterosexual male = normal.
But she thinks it's about games.
An idiot, basically.

Thankfully we are starting to see a more even-handed approach in regards to gender in media.
MLP for example. Actually I think I'll bring that up in the pony thread.
