I got pissed on the release of SC 5, they axed most of my mains ( Taki, Seong-Mina, and Talim). So, now the only mains I have left are Tira and Mitsurugi. Good thing I'm kickass with Tira.

You're not bad for enjoying Mitsurugi or his costume designs. I'm simply pointing out that Sophitia, Taki, Ivy, Mitsurugi, and so forth are objectifying. I haven't even assigned a value judgment to that, I've been very matter-of-fact about it up to this point.

The problem with objectification comes in when it has a negative impact, whether that be on the target audience or on an unintended audience. Objectification itself is not necessarily bad, it's the social impact that it can have which is the problem to address. Damage to peoples' body image, creation of unrealistic standards of attractiveness, that's where the real meat of the issue comes into play. These are the things to address.

To be fair, I have been playing video games since I was 4 with Tekken 4 being my first full game and NOT ONCE did I play the game and say "Hey this woman has tits" no, for me they were a rival just like the other characters and my sis would wipe my ass on the floor by spamming Christie's moves (then Tekken 5 came out and laser spammed her with Devil Jin)

I actually liked the SC 5 story mode, I found the plot engaging (I'm probably bias though since my dear Tira was a main antagonist, I love seeing her do her thing ). But they wiped almost all the characters and replaced them with stupid cheesy legacy characters (I especially hate Xiba), and why are there so many fucking randomized characters?

It felt short, rushed and made no sense (well it did, but it was lame). The devs themshelvs said it was supposed to be longer and include all the roster (which was also dissapointing. Seriously, the more the merrier) but they had to rush it

See Belgium; Similar size(quite smaller), same independence year ...owned Congo for a whole century.

My problem is that games that portray everyone as being one race or another are just being lazy with character model design and can't be arsed to include a few variations. Not everyone in Greece is white.

Well, that's great when it has plot relevance. Having an all-white US military because racism was never overcome is all well and good.

Having an all-white US military because the graphics designer couldn't be bothered to add some skin tones is pretty lazy.

Don't think we ever said something about design laziness. However, someone devising an alternate reality that has nations maintaining a "racial purity" would be interesting to see.

America doesn't apply as it's a multinational society, a constructed nation.
To answer you question: a dumb one, but this is the way it is in most of the world except pherhaps all of the Americas, Australia-NZ and a little bit of Africa.

Anyway, me, I'm not much of a gamer. Doesn't interest me. But you'd have to be blind not to notice that video games tend toward the sexist side. I've also frequently heard tell that gamer culture is highly misogynistic, from more than a couple of women gamers.

So. Would anyone like to share their opinions or thoughts on this?

The sexism is there, but it's getting better. I wish I had something more positive than that, but that's all I can honestly say.
