It's idiotic.

Yes, and every healer needs someone who can actually deal out damage to keep him from dying repeatedly. ;)

(But seriously, healer classes are fun too. While rogue and roguelike characters tend to be my favorites, healers rank not too far behind. I'm not sure there exists a class I don't like playing from time to time.)

Healers and crowd control are my favorites, usually.

Tanks are kinda boring. You just pretty much just stand there and yell COME AT ME BRO for every single dungeon.

I mean, that's the thing right? I get paid a lot of fucking money to argue. We don't expect chefs to cook you a meal or architects to design your house. This is what I do for work. You want my time beyond what I find entertaining

Write me a fucking check.

I mean, really, whats the point of writing a well crafted, nuanced argument for people who aren't going to fucking understand it?

Yeah, tanks are probably my least favorite. There's times when it's fun just to be all "OH HAI I AM LARGE AND SCARY, COME AT ME BRO" (especially for someone like me, who, in real life, is kind of the opposite of large and scary), but it gets kind of dull after a while. I like my characters small, fast, sneaky, and able to STAB YOUR KIDNEYS OUT. ;)

I also like Rangers/Druids. Its kinda satisfying to just go "Release the hounds," and then just watch.

The latter.

It generates no real harm. "Hurt feelings" are not real harm.

If the ONLY female characters in a game just walked around in the background and gave you items and info that would be sexist.

Now you're getting it.

Except, no, that wouldn't make it so. That's a bloody asinine argument to make.

Actually if female characters did nothing but stand around in town and give you items and gossip that would be incredibly sexist.

But by this point I am not at all surprised that you don't get it.

Go ahead and explain then. How is it "sexist"?

...How is it sexist to have no female do anything important, and just stand around in the village and gossip?

Really? Thats your question?

Is anybody else fucking appalled by the childish way certain posters are dismissing trauma as mere "hurt feelings"?

Thats rhetorical. I know anyone worth engaging on this board is just as appalled as I am. Not surprised, but appalled.

I can't fathom why people are still even responding to Ostro.

At the very least can everyone just stop so I don't have to read his posts? Having him on ignore is pointless when I still have to deal with his bullshit because posters worth talking to keep quoting him. Pretty please? For me?

Just like you didn't bother reading the links about the bullying and harassment that Anita S. experienced which you dismissed as something like "people got annoyed, so she cried and got money"? Because it conflicts with your precious preconceived notions about how things work?

I second (or third, or fourth) Neo Art's sentiment regarding your posts.

And it's really a reflection of the level of ignorance those arguing there is no sexism have. They do not consider personal examples to exist. They do not consider expert opinions to exist. They consider, as the only shred of evidence, their assertion that there is simply no evidence while finding increasingly pathetic reasons to dismiss the opposing evidence.

I AM A WHITE MALE AND I DON'T SEE RACISM OR SEXISM SO IT IS NONEXISTENT!

This is where they've set it.

This shit show is entirely on them.

Maybe there aren't enough of them.

I mean, really, if they had to deal with everyone on here who should be banned, I don't think they'd ever sleep (let alone do their jobs that actually pay them).

Oh, there are definitely enough of them. The problem is they actively allow this shit to fly.

People, when moderation rules that you can wish mass rape on communists, say that all illegal immigrants should be thrown in the ocean/shot, that AIDS is the gay virus, that the Holocau$t was a Jewish conspiracy, and that trans people are subhuman I seriously don't know how you can post with a straight face that maybe moderation is, in fact, trying.

They're not. At all. They don't give a fuck. This is all on them, and they should feel bad.

Personally, I think that other forums got it right when a lot of them encouraged BYOM. They not only broadcasted using the ignore function but also told players to encourage others to do the same. Instead, we got a rule against suggesting that someone use their ignore function to avoid conflict.

Or moderation puts you in the situation I am in, where I am literally forbidden from interacting with a certain player (no, seriously, I've been banned just for asking him to clarify something) because dissent, no matter how reasoned, is apparently a huge trigger for him.

and it somewhat baffles me because I remember a day when this shit didn't fly. When people were straight out told that they weren't worth being on nsg and to come back when they were better at it.

And it was, as a whole, a MUCH better place.

And when we moved from jolt to nationstates.net suddenly forum traffic became advertising revenue for the owner.

The playerbase got monetized.

And it went to shit.

We even let fucking child molesters post here as long as they don't scream at the top of their lungs "I LIKE HAVING SEX WITH CHILDREN!"

ehh, I've been tinkering with a place.

Of course, I can't give you a link because that would be "advertising".

Yeah, it's against forum rules to give links to places where posters might want to have a discussion that isn't nationstates. Tell me again how this isn't all about money.

Well, when that shit gets to a point where its ready to be used PM me.
