evolution is true; to what extent? it's probably true in case we are talking about animals, but how did an ape become hundreds of times smarter than rest of the species and even the apes they evolved from? how did some apes improve their mental skills so rapidly and well that they were able to use and make tools?

climate change, probably yes. although it depends whether you think it's man-made or not.
the american civil war was about slavery? oh please, it's as stupid as saying crusades were fought merely to spread the word of jesus christ. you can't be so naive and expect us to take you seriously.
I really would like to see those studies on marijuana fighting cancer, because I've seen also some news about marijuana causing cancer as well.

Dude, corvids make and use tools. It's not a uniquely human or even uniquely ape thing. We're not remotely as special as you think we are.

You were spot on. It's completely appropriate to use sweeping statements when they actually apply. For instance, "All canines are mammals." Likewise, "If alternative medicine actually worked, it would be called medicine." Simple, factual, true.
Indeed, the few things that the alternative medicine crowd try to claim as their own which actually work are really just mainstream medicine that they stuck some crystals on. For instance, sensible dietary suggestions, physical programs such as yoga, and relaxation exercises.

And, if memory serves, this was actually known by the Renaissance. The reason that many of the great sculptures of that era stuck to plain marble was because they preferred the aesthetic, but they knew it wasn't actually how the ancient masters did things.

It's been widely known in Acadamia for a long time. I read somewhere that many Victorian archaeologists were so appalled by the vibrant colours that they actually wiped them off.

Actually, the Civil war was pretty much about slavery. Specifically, states' rights to allow it or not, although states' rights to secede was more or less a secondary issue, prompted only by needless paranoia that "LINCOLN'S COMIN' TO TAKE OUR SLAVES!!!!1" (sounds a lot like the shit we hear today from the anti-Obama people regarding guns, minus the actual state secessions). Basically, without slavery, there wouldn't have been a Civil war.

To add to that, the only tools I haven't heard of other animals using are electronics, fire, and clothing, and I stand to be corrected on all three of those points in the future, I'm certain.

There was always going to be a civil war, whether about slavery or something else. It comes as part and parcel of being large nation.
