like the killing of 270 innocent people over scotland via libyan agents in malta on orders of Gadaffi totally had nothing to do with it at all.

I should take away the quotation marks on horrible, but he did invest a lot of the oil money in improving the nation. It was not the best nation in the world, but before his rule, Libya was just a poor desert nation.

Of course the people would be better off with a democratically elected government not committing terrorists acts across the world, but from what I have seen, the country seems to become more like Iraq today, with sectarian violence increasing. Since the transition from dictatorship to democracy was quite quick, it doesn't seem to have worked as effectively as the world hoped.

I apologize for a stupid remark on such a controversial issue, now lets keep this off this thread.

Obama is not going to improve this country.
Evolution pretty much happened.
Family Guy and all of Seth MacFarlene's other attempts at comedy, are rip-off's.

Family Guy and all of Seth MacFarlene's attempts at comedy are rip-off's. I did not know that.
And for the other statements, I agree with the Obama and Frisivia not be Joe Biden. People argue too much about evolution, so I choose to not take a side.

I don't give a fuck if it's true, this concept needs to be embedded in the minds of everyone ever.

How about using words you don't know the meaning of but think you do in an honest mistake? As opposed to insisting that your definition is correct and making a thread declaring that dictionaries cannot be used in threads to define those specific words. :)

All I want to know is whether my opinion about the true meaning of the word "Decimate" is detrimental to my health...

(To reduce by 10%, not to 10%. Or even less. Or even somewhat similar to 'anihilate'. Sheesh. And I know what the dictionaries allow it to mean, but... Sheeesh.)

But eventually, it will be, when we have complete understanding of our universe. Utter and complete. Then, we can say, religion and science are mutually exclusive.

Lies should not be common "knowledge".

The only people who say this are those who don't understand the scientific method, and the role of the null hypothesis within science.

False. Even in that case, they're not mutually exclusive. Religion simply attempts to exclude science, and fails.

b

I was really talking about both "God did <foo>" (that of religion attempting to exclude/circumvent science) and "<bar> proves that there is no God" which is an unwarrantable epistemiolgical argument sometimes given by people aspiring to be on Science's side.

"That which is Caeser's", etc, where the property of the one cannot be claimed (in the appropriate way) also by the other. Of course anyone using those arguments are straying onto the territory of the other, with a load of beartraps hidden in the long grass. (Although arguably you hear these phrases more as "Look what the other side is saying!" assertions by the apparntly offended-against group.)
