Provide with what? Handouts? New York, California, and Florida have the three highest levels of homelessness in the US. Some of the ones in CA are probably illegals, but they still receive handouts, and it's not working.

I agree. The size of an economy doesn't mean anything. There's a reason Northern states tend to have more state debt per capita. Their per capita GDP's are higher too! It should be reported as a percent of state GDP.

Not that debt is a bad thing anyway. If it was, the entire globe would be permanently fucked.

Provide with a significantly higher standard of living. So... it's working pretty well...
