I was narrowing the scope to partial birth abortion (where they deliver the child with all but head exposed and proceed to slice open their head at the base of the skull, and then throw them away with the used hypodermic needles and other medical trash).

By contraception I was referring to a combination of condoms, birth control, diaphragm, day after pill.

Well let's flip that coin on you. A woman decides to dress up in a beautiful given a bit tight dress that cuts just above the knee. She is later kidnapped and brutally raped before being horrifically murdered and dumped in a ditch. The murderer tells the PD that he did it because what she was wearing was ''asking for it'' does this mean that it is her fault, and because of that, if she was still alive she should be blamed and accept the consequences of her actions?

If my future girlfriend/wife was to tell me she doesn't want the baby, well, okay, I may not be entirely thrilled, if she wants my opinion I will give it, whether it is for or against depending on her reasoning, but if in the end she wants to have an abortion regardless of what I say, I will pay for the best clinic so she can be as safe as possible.

No, I would not let her go to any clandestine, second-rate clinic or do something to herself, or even die because the pregnancy is a risky one with lots of chances she may not survive.

But the fact is, they won't. The only way to stop abortion is to do the following:
1. Develop a method of contraception that is 100% effective and 100% reversible that is not dependent on remembering to take a pill or getting a shot, that won't fall out, that won't break, doesn't require someone to "know" how to use it, etc.;
2. Make it 100% free to everyone and accessible to everyone;
3. Make it not offend to sensibilities of people like fundamentalist Catholics who think contraceptive = murder;
4. Teach everyone about it and give it to them, again free of charge;
5. And then you will STILL have to force some people to use it.

So in the long run, it's impossible.
