Well I'd say there's legal precedent to start shooting state senators in public, at least in some sort of Texas gun law anyway. Just do it where there's no witnesses and scream for help a lot and it probably would work.Grave_n_idle wrote:Saiwania wrote:So, any word on if tampons were thrown? Reading around the subject, I'm not seeing any mention of any being thrown.
In fact, the only places I can find rumours that they were GOING to be thrown, are freerepublic and an anti-abortion site called lifenews... which seems to have been all the 'evidence' Texas needed to start searching people.
Which I find quite worrying. And bizarre. The same people that argue guns are just tools, and that it's the person who is the problem, and that you shouldn't disarm someone without specific intelligence they intend harm... are taking tampons away from anyone with a vagina, because they heard a rumour.

Two words sum up that stupidity:Geadland wrote:What kind of morons allow people to carry guns into a legislative assembly? That alone is ridiculous, never mind the fact that they're not allowing tampons to be carried in.
Hell if they allow carrying a rifle or a shotgun into the chamber...

In light of the message shortly before this one I'm replying to that they were bringing in them, glitter and a jar of faeces to apparently throw at people, I'd say that the tampons (unused) would have been my most favourite item to have had thrown at me (glitter being a close second, but a lot easier to miss some in my hair and make me look like I'm a Drag Queen in civvies).Frisivisia wrote:To be absolutely fair, they are throwing them at people. It seems in Texas, they are confiscating tampons and pads if you want to enter the senate gallery. They are afraid women might throw them at the legislature when they vote to significantly restrict women's rights in the area of reproduction.
However, you can still carry your weapons.

Obviously a tampon or a pad is a much more dangerous weapon than a firearm.
